Author Interview Series: Inspirational Story Of Juanita Williams From Sexual Abuse To Healing


Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written

Juanita R. Williams is a native of Peoria, Illinois. She is one of 13 children and the daughter of a Pastor. She is a licensed minister, singer, actress and songwriter. She released an EP “Expected Glory” in 2017. Her passion for God, serving God’s people, music, and the arts have ignited a passion that requires Juanita to now share the ministry God has given her through writing. Fulfilling her God-given assignment, she wrote her first book, Finding Purpose After Sexual Abuse and Trauma Living Beyond Pain and Finding My True Identity in God to bring healing and hope to the broken.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I imagine scenarios while in bed to all asleep to, then write about them

What are you working on now?

I am currently working on publishing my first book

The Bible, Stormie Omartian, Toure Roberts, T.D. Jakes, Andy Stanley, Scott Allen, Tony Evans, Joyce Meyer, Terry McMillan, E. Lynn Harris and many more, too numerous to name

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?

I used social media and email, just created a landing page, I'm very new to this so I'm looking for other ways to promote my book

Do you have any advice for new authors?

If you are serious about writing, start writing, whether it makes sense or not. Journal, record voice notes if you're not in a place where you can write it down, write daily.

What is the best advice you have ever heard?

The only way you will achieve anything is by taking action. You can't wish something into existence. Faith without works is dead.

What are you reading now?

Several books. Off Balance by Lela Ali, The Journey of Enlightenment by Jennifer Diebold, Lord, I Want to Be Whole by Stormie Omartian, God Is Not On A Point System by Lanessa Jackson.

What's next for you as a writer?

Publishing my first book, starting my second book, conferences, workshops, speaking engagements, wherever the Lord opens doors for me.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

The Bible, Battlefield of the Mind, The Color Purple, Mama
