Tell us about yourself and how many books you have written

I have written 4 books. I am an educator, farmwife, mother, and grandmother. I enjoy designing little girls crocheted dresses. My books are The Sense of It, Some Sense of It, Making Sense of It, and Still Making Sense of it. It is a family saga with the first book taking place during the Vietnam War Era. James and Margie, siblings in the same grade, have the same parents, same home, and are even in the same grade in school. However, they are opposites. James is popular, athletic, ad Margie is is a bookworm. James decides to drop out of school and is drafted. Join them in their nates and letters to each other as they find ways to Live for Peace.

What is the name of your latest book and what inspired it?

Still Making Sense of It is the story of Margie and James, as they farm, while raising both biological and foster children. They face financial and personal struggles, but come from great supportive families, and find ways to live for peace in their careers and family life.

Do you have any unusual writing habits?

I write from the heart, often in letters intersperced with poetry.

What are you working on now?

Finding ways to market my books. There is a lot to learn!

What authors, or books have influenced you?

L.M. Montgomery, who died ten years before I was born, is a favorite of mine. I love her characters. I also enjoyed Lousia May Alcott, Nicholas Sparks, and Janet Lambert.

What is your best method or website when it comes to promoting your books?

I joined Self-Publishing School. They have videos, coaches, and an interactive group that supports new writers.

Do you have any advice for new authors?

Be Persistent!

What is the best advice you have ever heard?

Network with others.

What are you reading now?

I am reading Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod.

What's next for you as a writer?

I am going to the AAlive Conference in Austin,Texas to learn how to market my books.

If you were going to be stranded on a desert island and allowed to take 3 or 4 books with you what books would you bring?

The Bible, The Book of Virtues, and Christian Historical Fiction.
